Mission & Priorities

Swedish Council of America supports and fosters cooperative relationships between all groups and individuals who promote knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of the Swedish heritage in American life and strengthens contemporary cultural and educational ties between North America and Sweden.

Swedish Council of America will be recognized as the pre-eminent organization in North America strengthening affiliated organizations through substantial grants, significant recognition, innovative communication and effective networking.

To achieve this mission and vision, the Board of Directors identified those programs that the SCA alone is best equipped to do, to marshal our resources and to focus on those priorities that enable us to best fulfill our mission. As adopted by the Board, these strategic priorities are:

• Strengthen the SCA’s partnerships with Swedish America.
• Expand the SCA’s grants and recognition programs.
• Increase the awareness of the SCA
• Ensure a stable and growing financial base.
