Porslinskåp Project

We need your help!

The Swedish Council has a unique opportunity to offer our affiliates. The Ambassador from Sweden to the United States, H.E. Jonas Hafström, needs more place settings for his table! Currently, the Ambassador has only 40 sets of plates to use when he hosts a formal dinner. Just 40 plates, and then he has to borrow from others.

The SCA has already made arrangements with Rörstrand, which has been supplying the Swedish Royal Court and Swedish homes alike with exquisitely designed porcelain since 1726, to start a new production run of “Kronporslin.”

For a donation of $300, the SCA will have Rörstrand produce one set (three dishes) of Kronporslin for the Swedish Ambassador with your organization’s name in gold on the back side of each dish. For an additional $10, Rörstrand will print your organization’s e-mail address as well, also in gold.

Your organization will also be listed in a book that will be presented to the Ambassador along with the new place settings. Who knows? Maybe some day the King of Sweden will eat on a plate with your organization’s name on it.

Your donation should be sent to the Swedish Council of America marked “The Porcelain Cabinet” no later than April 15, 2010. The new place settings will be presented to Ambassador Hafström during Swedish Week in Seattle this May.
