    Värmlandsgåvan
En vängåva till svenska utvandrares ättlingar
Swedish
$35 + $5 shipping = $40

In 1952, the parishes of the Värmland province in Sweden gathered together to create a special collection: the Värmland gift (Värmlandsgåvan).  This gift, which comprised over 300 objects, including art, textiles, glass, pottery, and more, was presented to the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis, Minn.  The gift became an important part of the Institute’s permanent collection.  Fifty-seven years later, ASI honored the gift by returning it to Sweden for a short time, where it was displayed for a year at newly-opened Sverige Amerika Centret.  This book, which includes essays, historical photos, and color photos of the objects, celebrates the gift and its continuing importance to both organizations.
